Soccer in Singapore

Soccer is arguably the most popular sport, beating out other sports like cricket, rugby, swimming, and badminton.  Singapore has its own soccer league which they call the S. league, there are ten teams in the league and they compete against each other around the country so that all of the fans can have a chance to watch their favorite professional soccer team play.  The Singaporean national soccer team has won the tiger cup in 1998, 2004, and 2007 which is the premier soccer competition in Southeast Asia.  Even though it is not a major sports power, the Singapore national soccer team has done well in regional and international competitions.

I think that it is gerat that Singapore likes soccer and that their national team has had good success at the regional and international level.
